Best Planes To Buy In GTA Online 2022

Spread the love

Reach for the skies. No, seriously. We are back again with another list of what to buy in GTA Online but this time, we’re looking at the best planes to buy in GTA Online right now. Cruising around the streets of Los Santos can be fun but you know what else is cool, gliding thousands of feet in the calm skies (mostly, sometimes there are chaotic dogfights up there) of Los Santos. I hear the skies are lovely this time of year. Most of these planes will be armed to the teeth so if you’re worried about protection, don’t be, you’ll have options.

A quick look at the best planes in GTA Online right now:

  • Western Company Mallard
  • Western Seabreeze
  • Avenger
  • RM-10 Bombushka
  • B-11 Strikeforce
  • Volatol
  • RO-86 Alkonost
  • V-65 Molotok
  • Buckingham Pyro
  • Western Company Rogue
  • Jobuilt P-996 Lazer
  • Mammoth Hydra

Western Company Mallard

This lil stunt plane is fun to fly around. It has excellent handling and is quite fast. It’s a plane that’s worth its price. It could possibly be modelled after the real life Zivko Edge 540. This plane is simply for those who just want to enjoy the skies of Los Santos. It has no weapons but if you really want a plane and don’t have a lot of money, you should get one of these. It has a capacity of 1 (pilot only).

Western Seabreeze

Another fun to fly airplane (but the flying can get weird) is this amphibious airplane. It’s a flying boat 😂. It is capable of being fully submerged under water and come out unscathed since it is resistant to water damage (landing it upside would damage it though). Modelled after the real life Seawind 3000 Amphibious Airplane. It has a capacity of 2 (pilot & passenger).

Avenger

This er… plane… or helicopter… You know what, let’s just call it a hybrid aircraft. This hybrid aircraft is quite a powerhouse capable of transporting vehicles like Nightshark, Insurgent Pickup, Stromberg, Vigilante, Weaponized Tampa… The list could go on and on, but not all vehicles though. Players can upgrade this flying military base with a weapons & vehicle workshop, how cool is that? Modelled after the Bell Boeing V-22 Osprey. It has a hover mode/VTOL mode (with autopilot but the autopilot is only for hovering in one place without moving around) which when active allows users to control the aircraft like a helicopter and the other mode (don’t know what to call it 😂) where players get to fly it like a plane. It’s actually fast in this other non-hover mode. It is also quite durable. The pilot can put the aircraft in autopilot and go to the back to operate one of its cannons. You can carry like half of the lobby in this 😂. Jokes aside, its capacity is 10 people (pilot, cabin passenger, three cargo hold gunners and five cargo hold passengers) according to GTA | Wiki.

RM-10 Bombushka

This massive military cargo ship can be the go to gunship (actually the Avenger is the go to gunship but if you’re looking for something different you can try this one). If you’re ever in a chaotic lobby where there are different teams of large scale fighting and you need to provide some air support, then this plane is a good choice. It’s a plane with some Cold War vibes to it. It is modelled after the real life Antonov An-12. You should know that it is quite slow (though you can use JATO thrusters – Jet Assisted Take Off to improve take off speed) and not that durable but it has the firepower (dual MGs, Cannon, bombs). If you have a good pilot that can handle this titan and also have good gunners, you can do some serious damage in this aircraft. I recommend buying this one only if you have money and are looking to have some big planes in your hangar. It has a capacity of 6 (pilot, three turret operators & two passengers).

B-11 Strikeforce

This Close Air Support Attack Aircraft is based on the real life Fairchild Republic A-10 Thunderbolt II. It isn’t as fast as the Hydra but has very good maneuverability and has tighter turning compared to other jets (Hydra & Lazer, even the Pyro). That makes it really good for really close dogfights. It is also durable, capable of withstanding up to 5 homing missiles. It also comes with a wider range of weapons including the barrage missiles. Recommended for dogfights. It has a capacity of 1 (pilot).

Volatol

This bomber plane is based on the real life Avro Vulcan. Like the Bombushka, it is a slow plane and not very durable. The most notable feature is that it carries double the amount of bombs other planes carry (Volatol – 100 bombs, other planes – 50 bombs). It has a capacity of 4 (pilot, two turret operators and passenger).

RO-86 Alkonost

Did somebody say stealth? This strategic bomber plane is based on the real life Tupolev Tu-160 and the Rockwell B-1 Lancer. It’s best feature is it’s stealth mode which is activated when the pilot flies around 1,600 Ft. and above. This mode means you go off the radar and cannot be seen on the minimap. But just like the Bombushka and the Volatol, it is slow and not very durable but if you were to choose between the 3, this would be the best option due to it’s stealth mode. It is available for use in the Cayo Perico Heist. It has a capacity of 2 (pilot & passenger).

V-65 Molotok

This is a military fighter jet based on the real life Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-15. Although it is not one of the best fighter jets in the game, its notable feature is its air brakes. Probably the best in the game. It is able to perfom tight landings with ease (i.e.: doesn’t need a long runway for landing). This is another plane I recommend buying only if you have money and you want to fill your hangar with a lot of planes. It has a capacity of 1 (pilot).

Buckingham Pyro

This fighter plane is based on the real life de Havilland Vampire. It has a twin boom body. The plane has very good maneuverability and is also one of the fastest planes in the game. It has a very tight turn circle and therefore, very good for dogfights. It’s missiles also do not have a cool down time meaning you can continuously spam them but they do have poor tracking. It is one of the best planes to use to counter oppressors. It has a capacity of 2 (pilot & passenger).

Western Company Rogue

This trainer aircraft is my personal favorite. It is based on the Beechcraft T-6 Texan II. The Rogue looks like a plane from the World War times. It is one of the fastest planes in the game. Players can also install explosive MGs to this plane and has different bomb options making it lethal in the air. It also has missiles, this plane is good for dogfights. The best part is its price. I definitely recommend buying this plane. This is one of the very few things in the game that aren’t overpriced. It is the definition of ‘Value for Money’. It has a capacity of 2 (pilot & co-pilot).

Jobuilt P-996 Lazer

Remember that little dirt ‘ramp’ you used to take in order to get into Fort Zancudo and steal a jet? Yeah, this is the jet most people in the game are familiar with. It is based on General Dynamics F-16 Fighting Falcon. This fighter jet has really good handling, one of the best handling in the game. Aside from homing missiles, players can also equip the explosive MGs on this plane making it lethal. Also a very fast plane. The draw back is its price tag. It has a capacity of 1 (pilot).

Mammoth Hydra

A military VTOL (Vertical Take Off and Landing) attack jet. Probably its best feature. The hovering and its explosive MGs make it one of the best if not the best go to plane for a war in the skies of Los Santos. It is based on the British Aerospace Harrier II. It is also on the list of the fastest planes in-game. A very lethal attack plane. It has the capacity of 1 (pilot).
