Can you make a lot of money with hangars in GTA Online? Yes. With the hangar office, VIPs, CEOs or MC Presidents will have access to the Free Trade Shipping Co website. Will it be a fast/get rich quick process? Nope. Well what else does the hangar offer? A very large storage for your fleet of aircraft plus a complementary Cuban 800 aircraft. Should you buy a hangar? After going through this article, you should be able to determine if you really need one. Without further ado, let’s see what the hangar is all about in GTA Online.
Hangar Locations & Cost
There’s a total of 5 hangars in GTA Online, 2 in Los Santos International Airport and 3 in Fort Zancudo:
- LSIA Hangar A17 (in LSIA) – $1,200,000
- LSIA Hangar 1 (in LSIA) – $1,525,000
- Fort Zancudo Hangar 3499 – $2,650,000
- Fort Zancudo Hangar 3497 – $2,085,000
- Fort Zancudo Hangar A2 – $3,250,000
Note, purchasing a hangar in Fort Zancudo gives you low level clearance in the military base. In other words, you’ll be able to go to the military base without getting a wanted level.
Free Trade Shipping Co (Air-Freight Business)
The hangar office provides access to this website where you can start source missions as well as the sell missions. This website can also be accessed from the Master Control Terminal in the Arcade if you have both a Hangar & an Arcade. Once you start sourcing some contraband for your smuggling operations, you will be able to view the stock levels of each contraband type in the website.
The source missions for the Air-Freight Business are a bit ‘grindy’. For instance, you’ll need to do a lot of the source missions before you can reach a level where the value of your hangar stock is worth selling. However, the more source missions you do, the more trade prices for aircraft you unlock both Elitás Travel & Warstock Cache & Carry purchases.
List of aircraft whose trade price you unlock having completed a certain number of source missions:
- 3 missions – Nagasaki Ultralight
- 6 missions – Western Company Rogue
- 9 missions – Buckingham Alpha-Z1
- 12 missions – Nagasaki Havok
- 15 missions – LF-22 Starling
- 18 missions – V-65 Molotok
- 21 missions – Mammoth Tula
- 24 missions – RM-10 Bombushka
- 27 missions – Buckingham Howard NX-25
- 30 missions – Mammoth Mogul
- 33 missions – Buckingham Pyro
- 36 missions – Western Company Seabreeze
- 39 missions – P-45 Nokota
- 42 missions – FH-1 Hunter
Once you reach a satisfactory stock level for selling, you can export your contraband to buyers. The missions usually involve dropping packages across the map.
Summary
Another reason why you would buy a hangar is that it allows you to customize your planes & helicopters. From the paintjobs to the aircraft weapons. Other reasons to buy a hangar are that it provides access to the military base (only Fort Zancudo Hangars though which I recommend buying if you want a hangar), storage space for multiple aircraft and Ron stops nagging you to get a hangar.
So, do you think the hangar is worth buying? Personally, I recommend buying it once you’ve acquired some wealth in the game. Let us know in the comments what you think.
